**Remote position with expectation of candidate working in office at least one day a week.**
**Candidate will be expected to use personal vehicle to drive to Flagstaff, low frequency in the beginning with a potential increase in frequency once the facility opens, with occasional drive to the Arizona State Veterans' Home in Yuma and Tucson.**
Roles & Responsibilities
- As a member of the Executive Leadership team for the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, the regional compliance administrator guides Arizona State Veteran Home administrators to ensure development, initiation, maintenance, and revision of policies and procedures for the general operation of multiple skilled nursing facilities across the State of Arizona to ensure compliance with requirements of the Department of Health Services and the federal Department of Veteran Affairs, as well as preventing illegal or improper conduct or actions.
- The Regional Compliance Administrator develops and periodically reviews the standards of conduct to ensure continuing relevance in providing proper information to management and employees of the Arizona State Veteran Homes.
- Collaborates with other member of the Executive Leadership to ensure agency policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets or exceeds the minimum standards of conduct and disposition.
- Provides technical expertise and insight in a consultative or advisory capacity to assist the Deputy Director and Director in the oversight of administrators of skilled nursing facilities.
- If an Administrator position is vacated, this position will serve as the interim Administrator until a new Administrator is hired.
- This position will assist with the opening of a skilled nursing facility in Flagstaff, Arizona to include assisting the Administrator with the Department of Health Services and Veterans Affairs initial surveys and subsequent licensure.
Skills Required
- Managing and directing the overall activities of multiple long-term care/skilled nursing facilities/State Veterans Homes.
- Interpretation and application of all rules and regulations pertaining to the operation of long-term care/skilled nursing/State Veteran Home.
- Developing policies and procedures
Skills Preferred
- Nursing home administration principles and practices.
- Federal and State laws governing the operations of the Arizona State Veteran Homes.
- Law, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care/skilled nursing facility administration
Experience Required - Long-term care/skilled nursing facilities/State Veterans Homes.
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree, although a master’s degree is desired, in Health Administration or closely related field of study.
- A minimum of 5-6 year experience in the administration of skilled nursing facilities.
- Must have a valid Arizona Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator License
Additional Information
- Must possess current license to practice as a Nursing Home Administrator in Arizona
- Frequent in-state travel is required.
- Position requires driving in the course of conducting State Business.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
